My client
wanted a Dillon guitar (which are no longer being built) and
when he found out I used to work with John Dillon and had built
several Dillons in the 80's, he contracted me to build him
a Kingslight - in the Dillon narrow waist dreadnaught style.
We used a beautiful set of Australian blackwood for the body
with an adirondack top. We used ebony binding on the body - but
then australian blackwood binding on the ebony neck and
headstock...nice compliment. For the
fingerboard inlay, my Kansas client wanted something "heartlandish"
and we decided on wheat being blown about by a tornado...
designed by Chicago artist, Greg Steele. Wonderful,
bright, projecting, full sound.
